Default Dendrochilum gracile

This one's a miniature Dendrochilum. The plant is mounted on a 4"x4" block of tree fern, and has doubled in size over the past year. It produced 10 bloom spikes this time around. Individual flowers are tiny, but they sure do look amazing through a macro lens. Incidentally, they don't seem to have the typical pungent, tangy Dendrochilum smell - yet, anyway.

Thanks for looking!

Hey guys - I have a baby Dendrochilum gracile in potted media. And over the past 9 months, the plant hasn't grown at all, although it looks healthy. Any advice? Should I repot it? Should I water it more?

How long ago did you pot it up? Most Dendrochilums don't like being repotted, and will often sulk for most of a growing season until they decide to start doing something again.

I bought it from Andy's Orchids about 9 mo ago and never repotted it. It's in a tiny pot. But maybe it's just not getting enough water or sun?

They do like a lot of water. My potted ones are growing in sphagnum moss, and get soaked just as the moss is beginning to dry out. As far as light, I grow mine with the Phal species and they seem to do just fine there.
