Stalled new growth?
Default Stalled new growth?

Greetings all,

I have attached a picture of my Coelogyne Rochussenii. It now has 3 new growths with only one of them seeming to push out new leaves and the other two are just two spiky things.

Is this normal with Coelogyne? Are the two new growths just stalling until the plant has a more suitable root system or has it totally abandoned ship on growing new pseudobulbs on the two new shoots?

I keep the media moist throughout the summer and it's on a window sill with bright indirect sunlight getting about 9 hours of light per day. I water it with 20-20-20 fertilizer (half a teaspoon/4 gallons) and half a teaspoon powdered seaweed fertilizer every watering and flush the media every 4 weeks.

Any insight/advice is much appreciated.

Has it been recently potted? What's in the medium? Only sphagnum?

It's potted in a mix of bark, perlite, and moss with an additional layer of moss on top to keep the emerging roots nice and moist. It fell over a couple of weeks ago due to wind so I had to adjust it in its potting.

The disturbance from falling out of the pot might have set it back. This species likes a lot of water.

The pbulbs are wrinkled which means not absorbing enough water.
Has it been recently potted? If not, there might be some issue with the root system.
