C. Fimbriata flowering length

My Coelogyne Fimbriata put out it's first flower (very happy), and I know that as long as they have enough light they're easy enough to bloom.

This bud opened about 3 days ago however and already it's beginning to wilt. I don't think I've under watered it, it's bulb is not puckered at all and seems very happy.

I expected the flower to not last very long as it is a young, small specimen and this is it's first bloom.

I have found that Coelogynes just don't last all that long even on a mature plant. Some may do more than one flower, blooming sequentially, but not all. They might last longer on a more mature plant, but I think that if they only last a week or so, that's just what they do. But they do have fascinating flowers.

So nothing out of the ordinary with an unfortunately short lived flower? I read their flowers normally last month's which I was a little confused.

I didn't know about its fragrance which is like cut grass which was a nice surprise though.

I have never had a Coelogyne flower last that long... maybe under ideal conditions some species might. I think 2 weeks is about the best I have had on any species of the genus. But then in my growing environment, flowers do get wet, perhaps that shortens their life.
