Laelia tenebrosa - Stalled growth
Hello, my friends
My tenebrosa has a new growth that had stalled its development. It's been there...doesn't dry out, doesn't grow. In the meanwhile it started another one that is growing well so far.
I wonder if it is waiting for something...any clues?

Waiting for spring... these sometimes develop sheaths in the fall or winter, but then they just sit there. They still do their growing in the spring and blooming in the summer for me.

This can happen to Cattleyas when they don't get enough water while developing new growth. Did you go on holiday?

There's a new green leaf inside...hope it comes out when temps start rising.
I haven't but I cut watering a little when we start having cool and cloudy days. I guess I must increase humidity somehow...or increase watering.

I don't think watering or humidity are the issue... the species just behaves that way, starting "action" and then taking a winter nap.

I'm not too worried because it has been growing roots like crazy and there's a new growth.
I'll wait and see what happens.

Can you post more pics? That doesn't look good at all. How much cal-mag are you using?

I'm using Akerne's Rain Mix diluted 50% (½ gram per litre), alternated with each watering (once/week).
Do you want to see photos specifically of which portion?

The stalled growth and the other new growth. They both look bad in the one photo you posted.

What looks so bad to you? I see brown sheaths on developing p-bulbs fairly often and they develop fine.
