Laelia tenebrosa - Stalled growth

Yes, that is a brown dry sheath with a green leaf inside.
It's growing lots of roots, as all my catts.

I see a normal, healthy L. tenebrosa. As long as it is protected from frost (which I think that it is) should be fine. Think spring...

It's indoors on a south faced large window.
So, no frost.

The smaller growth looks a bit stunted, but otherwise ok.

The larger growth is very odd and should not develop like that. I've grown Cattleyas since about 1992 and have never seen a growth do that and bounce back. I doubt you'll get blooms from either growth.

Update on this one and oppinions requested...

My last post in this thread was about a stalled growth...well, it didn't went much further that that. As a side note, this is a root machine, producing lots of them.

In the meanwhile, a new growth was born but the leaf never opened (photos bellow). That's when I thought something is wrong. As this species has intermediate to high humidity in its habitat, I assumed this was a case of low humidity.
In a "desperate" action, I started to give it more water and move it during night time to an environment with 60% humidity minimum. By the morning, I change it again to its location so that it can get the light it needs (but with an HR around 20-30%).
The leaf never unfold.







The result is a new growth (photos bellow).



What do you think I should do? Do you think this medium is too "thin"? Does it needs a coarser medium together with a plastic pot and some medium more water retentive?
I know the correct answer is a basket but I don't have good conditions for baskets (living in a flat, no place to hang it, etc).

Sometimes plants just do have a growth not mature properly, and this one did exactly what it should do, make yet another new one. Perhaps you had just watered before taking the photo, but it does look very wet. The bark looks quite large enough, but the plant is certainly climbing out of the pot. I think that clay pot is better than plastic - it needs air, and to dry out between waterings. That looks like a very good pot, sad that you will probably have to break it to get the plant out. If you move it to a larger pot, a suggestion - invert a small pot or basket in the middle before adding the plant - that keeps an air space so that the volume of bark does not increase a lot when you increase the area.

Yes, I took the photo right after watering. Hence it looks wet.
I'll keep it in this pot and see what happens with this new growth. The pot has the right size, it's clay (in this case clay is better, I agree), so there's no reason to change. I've read somewhere that this species is one of those with climbing habits so it is doing what is expected.

How much light does it get?

It's on a south window, near one of my Catts. As the Catt always bloom, I assumed it would be enough for this one too. I've read it doesn't need as much light as usually Catts do to bloom.
Anyway, when the sun is lower (winter, spring, etc) it gets direct sunlight filtered by a curtain like the one bellow.
