Sophronitis (Cattleya) cernua first bloom

After losing my first Soph cernua to rot 6-7 years ago, I finally bought another one this spring since it's one of my favorite minis. It was sold as a young plant still 2 years from blooming (4 growths and now has 6), so I was quite surprised to see buds appear last month!

I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't a type with red blooms (like my previous plant), but the color has grown on me and it's a good excuse to get another one!

I like them too. I just got one this spring. Still a few years from blooming, but it gave me a new growth so I'm happy. Yours is beautiful..

Cernua is a great little plant, love the orange hue... not many orchids can be grown to specimen size and still occupy only a 4 inch piece of tree fern
