Default Flash Shots of Cattleyas

I’ve been invited to be the official photographer for the Mid-Atlantic Judging Center of the AOS!
I used to assist the previous photographer, but I didn’t have much flash equipment of my own. A friend kindly lent me stands, umbrellas and backdrop cloth. All I needed was more flashes and a macro lens.
Here are some shots I did at home with the new gear. Of course these have been edited, but the ones submitted to the AOS cannot be altered in any way.

Blc. Norman’s Prophesy ‘Montclair’

Laelia perrinii

Cattleya eldorado ‘M. Ito’

Laelia pumila ‘Tamara’

That's great, Bayard. What are you shooting with?

Now that I live at the beach, I'm getting back into shooting again, although more nature scenes than orchids. I recently upgraded to a Canon 77D, and added a 150-600 telephoto.

Thanks for the comments!
Ray - Im using a Canon 5D Mark iii. The Laelia pumila was shot with a 100mm macro and ring flash. The others with a 135mm short telephoto, 2 umbrellas with flash and a flash on top of the camera.

I thought about a full-frame sensor, but simply cannot justify the dollars...

I sold or gave away all of my studio equipment before moving.

I had built my own "ring light" from LED arrays sold as "angel eyes" for car headlights. Worked great.

Let's hope you get to take many photos of prize winning orchids. I'd say practice makes perfect but you are that close already...
