Default Lc. Cariads Mini-Quinee ‘Angel Kiss’

This is the second bloom this year, bloomed back in April. Just love that purple.

Beautiful! Someone brought a Lc. Cariads Mini-Quinee to our September Orchid Society meeting...no idea if it was an 'Angel Kiss' but yours seems to have a nicer shape.

The flowers are about 4”. The plant is still pretty immature, so I don’t how large it will get. Right now it is in a 3.5” pot and the leaves and pseudobulbs are about 7”.

Glad i found this thread. Could anybody tell me if it grows a sheath first or buds appear straight from a bulb?

Veksa ------ that one is probably sheathless. There was at least one person that mentioned in the past that it produced a spike and buds ------ no sheath was produced for that occasion.

Although, apparently there are reports of certain kinds of catts that can sometimes produce a sheath followed by spike, and sometimes no sheath with spike ------- for the one catt that is.

And some catts just are sheathless all the time - developing spikes without developing a sheath first.

I have this plant and it sure is taking it's time blooming. It's been several years since I got it as a bareroot plug right out of the tray, and it's getting bigger, but still no blooms, although a couple of the growths have had very small sheaths (or sheathes? I Think one is a verb and the other is a noun). Since some of the growths have sheaths and others do not, I think this one will probably bloom variably from both sheathed and sheathless growths.

i also have LC Dinard 'Blue Heaven', which is in fact blue heaven, and it sometimes has sheaths and other times does not. It blooms from both sheathed growths, and those without.

Finally I have LC Busy Bev 'Blue Jewel' which is also fantastic, and it never produces a sheath. Not once has it ever had a sheath, and I've had it for years.
