I have this Cattleya from 5 years ago, when it was given to me without a tag, but with the "verbal tag" of guttata. It clearly isn't a guttata, as the plant size (small) and the relative lack of spots do not correspond.
I am thinking that this might be some sort of granulosa. Perhaps schoefieldiana? The fragrance has not yet developed itself, the flowers opened yesterday. What is your opinion?
The lip does resemble that of Cattleya guttata. But the color of the sepals and petals--and, as you pointed out, the lack of spots--makes me think it's a hybrid.
Thank you all for your opinions.
I present the flower after a few days. The fragrance is, as expected, lovely, not the usual orchid fragrance but sweeter and spicier.
The lip resembles that of granulosa and has the same purple 'hairs'. The flowers are small at 8-9 cm but the humidity is also low, being grown on a sunny windowsill.
