C. Fort Motte x L. milleri -At long last!
I love rupicolous laelias, spotted flowers not as much, so I've been curious how these flowers would turn out. I bought the plant on ebay as a down-on-its-luck seedling in early 2014. Last year it put up a lovely sheath, but nothing came of it.
This year, finally, first bloom.
The first picture is in indoor light--it looks like a painting to me.

Thank you all for enjoying this one with me. It was a bedraggled little thing when I got it. It's pretty awesome to finally see the flowers.

Wow! I don't care much for complex hybrids, but this one is a keeper that I'd let in my collection any day. Congrats!!

It has a few years to go before it's much of a looker without flowers.

Thanks!
I'm not usually big on complex hybrids either. It was the cross with milleri that got me. I can't resist those little laelias, and I'm saddled with insatiable curiosity. Plus, it was cheap
Picture from today attached. Different light and background.

Egads that’s beautiful! Super vibrant and all of my favorite colors in one flower. That is certainly a purchase that paid off! I’m loving the look of these little rupicolous crosses
