Pamela is the infamous Ernest Hetherington's daughter. Mr. Hetherington was the owner of Stewart Orchids and is considered one of the great hybridizers of the 20th Century. |

Isurus79 has it right... Ernest Hetherington's daughter. Registered by Stewart's in 1970, so a classic. Found a reference to her as his daughter, being a physician on the east coast in an obituary for Ernest, but the connection was definitely "family" when the hybrid got named.

Is that Rlc. Pamela Hetherington (in the opening post) a named cultivar? (Such as 'Coronation').
Looks like online sources are indicating that Rlc. Pamela Hetherington made it out to Australia and New Zealand, which is excellent.
