Hi everyone, new to the forum but not to orchids, well, most of them! Can anyone give me care info for the above referenced orchid, aside from regular Cattleya care? Thank you so much!

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

This would be a Cattleya hybrid that would get regular Cattleya care; nothing out of the ordinary.

If you haven't grown Cattleyas before, they like brighter light than most house plants. If the sun through a window is too hot, though, they may sunburn, so many people put a sheer curtain between the window and the plant.

They like to dry out between waterings when not in active growth. When making new roots and shoots, they should get almost dry before watering. You can use a wooden kebab skewer to test the dampness inside the medium, like testing a cake. Many people leave the skewer in the pot and pull it out to look for moistness.

Most of us repot when the plant outrgrows the pot. This is generally about every 2 years. The medium is usually breaking down at this point too and needs to be replaced.

You can use the Search feature in the top maroon menu to find information here on Orchid Board. Be sure to check out the Advanced Search features.
