Default winter vs summer bloom variation.

I thought it would be interesting to have some pictures of how cattleya blooms can vary depending on temperature or light. Here is my Cattleya Dal's Buddy when it bloomed in the summer vs the winter

Feel free to post your own examples of variation also 😊I am curious to see other peoples chids.

How beautiful! Cooler temperatures really bring out the reds! I am not sure if I have comparison pictures of my Nelly Isler but I will look.

I know they sure can change. I have one that is blooming right now that is much darker than it ever has before. If I get to it I'll take a picture. I didn't do that when I was taking my last pics.

I didn't find a true summer Nelly Isler but this past autumn, the weather went from cold to warm to cool so, while the flowers were not brown, they were not the usual, as you can see....

Orange Catts tend to be more yellow when they bloom in higher light, for ex.

cooler temps slow the flower growth pattern and allow it to develop more of its potential....
