Default 2 for one Trader Joes

So A few years ago I bought a Catt from Trader Joes that looked like a big plant. when I went to divide it I noticed a part of it just fell off like it did not belong there. Over time the leaves changed on the bigger part of the plant So that got me thinking why is this smaller plant leaves look different. Well after years of waiting my small plant that came off the bigger one bloomed. It is a different Catt. So I got 2 different plants for the price of one. I have gotten 2 of the same kind of plants in one put but never 2 different ones.

Has this ever happen to you?

Was there a tag in the pot? It's possible to have two really dissimilar plants from the same pod if the baby plants were tangled up together and one favored one parent, the other favored the other. (Would be neat to know what went into the hybrid) I have a Sobralia that was like that... it is a hybrid of an intense yellow species and a pink one... the yellow took the color out of the pink to make white flowers, but clearly there was another plant that favored the yellow parent in the same pot. Baby seedlings do get tangled together to where they may get potted up as one plant (and surprise!)
