Two questions to Cattlianthe growers

If you can find a rectangular basket... but square, with the plant on the diagonal, will give some growing room. And you can go significantly larger, with large bark, so no danger of over-watering. Once the plant makes itself at home in the basket, you won't be repotting it... eventually you can cut front leads to create new plants, but it will be happy in that basket, growing in multiple directions, for a long time.

When it is truly climbing out of the basket, you could take a 2, or better 3, p-bulb cutting. But don't be in any rush...this can become a spectacular specimen plant especially if it decide to grow in several directions at once (which seems to be its pattern)

Such a nice color. You sure do have some unruly roots. Those would be so dead at my house.

And the photo doesn't show its true color.
When I water it I always mist the roots. It's only once/week but I know from experience that they keep growing even if I don't.

When I have roots that go outside a pot I water them when I water the plant also 2 or 3 times a week and they still dry up after time.

You HR must be really low... do you know how much?

Sometimes, when roots start to get really big, I don't mist or pour water over them so that they dry. But I also like to see them grow everywehre.

Oh ya it's horrible, some where around 16% and it can go up as high as 20% some days my poor orchids. I had a humidifier but they always seem to die in short order. I should try another but have not. Thank goodness spring is coming.
