any epi people out there?
Default any epi people out there?

hey i was wondering if anyone here has epidendrum care tips? i had a bunch i started from kekkis on adult plants-some are the tall orange flower type and the other is the stout purple-flower type
i put the pieces in clay balls/bark and kept them out in full sun until early September
over time they have taken to just randomly dying on me
i have 1 purple left and 2 oranges left-i started with 6 of each
also, 1 orange guy keeps shedding its roots

any ideas??

You're probably not watering nearly enough. The clay balls dry out rapidly. New keikiis don't have many roots. Bigger plants can take full sun, but not small plants just starting out.

I have mine in more of a bark mix. The bitties need more pampering but, the big guys can stand some abuse. I water maybe once a week by weight and they are under LEDs. For radicans, I withhold water in late winter to spur bloom. They do respond well to feeding.
