Lc Frosty Pink question re multiple blooms

Hello! I am new to the Orchid Board and hope I can connect with some knowledgeable growers. I have been raising orchids for many years but am self taught. So please excuse (and feel free to correct) any improper use of terminology.

I currently have a beautiful Frosty Pink with six buds (3 sets of twins). One set are buds on a long stem, one set looks like known it will do the same, but the third set is encased in a sheath. Why would this happen? What is the significance of the sheath?

Any information would be appreciated.
