Cattleya LOVE CASTLE 'Kurenai'

[Regelian]

This is an almost mini, at about 20cm total height, with incredibly saturated pink-purple flowers. The darker lip is velvet-like, as is the flower, but the stronger pigmentation give it an almost artificial look. Very light scent, easy to miss, even though the flower just screams at you.

Now considered a Cattleya, many plants still carry an SLC label. It is a cross of (Laelia cinnabaraina x Sophronitis coccinea) X C. Jose Dias Castro (a complex large Catt.)

First shot is in daylight, while the second is with flash. Not an easy subject, but the colours look about right on my computer.

Gorgeous! The red and purple look irredescent and rich. Too bad the scent is light. I go nutz for good orchid smells.

I know what you mean about scent, the colour screams 'tart's boudoir', doesn't it.

I like the second photo, with the flash, the blooms look velvety and rich. Nice photos, those colors are always such a challenge to photograph!
