Default Comparing two 'mini' Epidendrums

On the left is Epidendrum ellipticum and on the right is Epidendrum quitensium. Both came in the same pot from Andy's and it drove me nuts till I found out why certain stems were more robust than others. After a phone call to Andy (who told me he gets lots of seedlings intergrowing the pots - a head's up folks!) he set me straight on this. I teased them apart (as I told in a previous thread) and repotted. This shows the major differences. These are both available on Andy's web site. The stick at right is a 1 foot measure.

The ellipticum is the more mini of the two, but the tall inflorescence makes up for it. The quitensium is the more robust grower and more pink flowered. Both are being grown in south window with supplemental CF bulbs to the point of keeping the leaf margins and stem purple.

Way to go, Ross. I remember the earlier thread, and it's fun to see what they look like in all their bloomin glory.

Ross. I have an Epidendrum Quitensium (elongatum) that I purchsed from Andy's in bloom. It did well initially, but now the leaves are turning yellow and falling off... It does have new growth, however. Do you know what is wrong? Thank you for your reply.
