First blooms are unpredictable; always give it at least two chances. I have had Cattleyas look quite terrible the first bloom and, even the second and then the third, the blooms turn out perfect. That is sometimes the case when you buy seedlings.
Hi Nexogen, I've just found 2 plnts of this beautiful species. May I ask you how you grow it? Mine are almost flowering size, in pure moss (I think I'm going to move to bark because I haven't a good relationship with moss..).
Please excuse me for the delay. This plant I donated to a friend. I had it mounted on a piece of tree fern bought from a reptile shop. The plant was growing very well but I did not like the flowers.
