My friends

I think, together with a vigorous root growing, I think I have a new growth.

Like my other catts and Laelia, this one also shown a root growing rate of around 1/2 cm/day (approx 0,2 in/day).
That's good news!

Update on this one...new growth is growing vigorously, and the new roots seems to be well established.
The new growth shows signs of anthocyanin reaction to light, which I believe it's normal since the flowers of this variety are red/purple.

Growing conditions:

south window with 5 hrs of filtered sun (approx. 25% shade)

Waterings every two days and mist by night time with a cool mist humidifier.

Temps: between 24 and 19ºC

Fertilizer: approx. 50% of the recommended dosage (Akerne's Rain Mix).

Basically I'm giving it the same conditions as my other catts, except for the cool mist.

Update on this one...new growth is now much bigger and it already shows the pigmentation that indicates the flower colour (bellow there's a photo of this species, not mine...just to give you a idea of how it looks. This var is called "Rubra").
And there's a new root showing, right now that I thought the plant would start its rest period after the new leaf open.

The flower

Update on this one...
Although its growing season is in the fall, it is constantly growing new roots. It also grows new roots from the older roots as you can from the photos.

I was tempted to repot it but, as this is a young plant, and with the dry and hot spring/summer approaching, I think the best is to keep it in this pot for, at least, until new growth start to show.
