The plant is currently potted in a mixture of 25%moss and 75%pine bark. I am keeping the surface moist and watering the whole plant weekly. I do mist daily. I will post pic later (currently at work)but it definitely has no roots. I would say its been at least a month that I notice it lost its roots.

Mature plants MUST dry out between waterings. Grow in a pot with a porous, free-draining media. Common media: fir bark, tree-fern fiber, expanded clay, lava rock, charcoal or a combination.

Maybe that moss is what's causing problems. What's your humidity level and temp?

Unlike Phalaenopsis or Vanda, which can constantly make new root growth, Cattleyas only make new roots every now and then. This is usually around the time they make new vegetative growth. Until this happens you need to keep them as hydrated as possible.

If there really are no roots left, it becomes a race between drying out and dying, and finally making some new roots. In the mean time you need to keep the plant in bright shade and in a very humid environment. Watering it won't help at all if there aren't any roots to take up the water.
