Prosthechea (cochleata x garciana) blooming again!
I wanted to post these pictures for Ray to enjoy (and everyone else), even though the first two flowers are mutated (whats up with my flowers being mutated?). Since taking the pictures, the third has opened and it is normal, as were the first time this bloomed for me when I purchased it from Ray. This has been the easiest orchid to grow! It just doesn't get any better....and it is sooo cool looking! There are two other spikes on it with about 3 to 4 flowers per spike...so as soon as more open, I will take some more pictures. Enjoy!

Hay Becca,
Aren't these just the best 'chids to grow and bloom?
I love these - Any scent?

It has the faintest smell similar to what a lily smells like!

I agree Becca, this group are nice and easy to grow and flower here too! If I can grow them and flower them here, in this climate, they must be really tolerant of a wide range of conditions!

I like the purple on the petals
Your Pros is quite a bit a head of my Prosthechea cochleata -- mine is in th eearly spiking stage. Like you I have [thus far] found this one to be very easy to grow ... and I'm sure my conditions are far from ideal

Prosthechea (Encyclia) cochleata growing habit
Hi...I have an Encyclia cochleata, and am curious about how fast they grow. I've seen conflicting info about whether or not they have a bit of a winter rest. I've had mine for a month or so, and tho it seems to be sending roots out like crazy, no growth otherwise. It's got three pseudobulbs - one with two leaves, one with one leaf, and the other no leaves just a little brown sheath topping it.

Great color Becca! I like the purple/blues of flowers.
Thanks for the show & tell
