Default Laelia anceps - new growth from an old pbulb?

That's my question.
Do new growths grow from old pbulbs?

It seems so...
Or this one has aborted?

Looks like a swollen eye. It could turn into a new growth.

Let's hope so! It would be the third new growth in less than 4 months.

I was planning to rotate the plant becaise it is "unbalanced" due to light direction but that would put the eye on the opposit side of the window so my plans changed.

I can't prove it, but I strongly suspect Cattleya dormant growth buds need light before they will grow. This is another good reason to make sure Cattleya rhizomes are on the surface of the medium, not buried.

I suspect the same thing. I always peel back the dried sheath and its pretty common to those eyes growing.
