Laelia x finckeniana 'Kennedy's' AM/AOS

This is a natural hybrid between L anceps and L albida.

Some 3-4 years ago, I bid on a small mother division in the AOS Judges Auction in Stamford, CT. It was a very small plant, and initially it took a turn for the worse. Eventually it came around, and it is now blooming for the first time.

I second the whole plant!

I bought one last year, but I'm having a hard time keeping this plant in a pot... it keeps growing roots and p-bulbs everywhere. I'm curious how you manage it. I have 8 or so p-bulbs, but haven't bloomed yet.

To those asking for a pic of the whole plant, this clone appears to be very 'tight', as it has 5 years of growth in a 4" plastic pot.

This might change now that it is approaching maturity. I have seen some L anceps being very tight as seedlings, and then they start to stretch to 1.1/2"-2" when they mature.

Thanks for the pic. Looks much tidier than mine.

With mine, the younger p-bulbs do seem much more clumped together while the mature sized ones seem spread out. It's also possible that my plant is simply reaching towards the light source...?

I wish mine would bloom. It's just finished three new p-bulbs and I notice that new shoots are already growing. I doubt a spike will follow now.

Anyway, congrats on the bloom - looks fantastic!
