Excellent! The flowers are quite attractive. How is the scent? I have three that are in various stages of spike growth--and since this is the first year that I've gotten spikes on the plants (they were grown from very small seedlings) I'm amazed at how frustratingly slow the spikes are to mature.

Can I assume that, based on your location, your plant does not undergo any sort of winter cooling period? Do you give it a dry rest?

Congratulations on your outstanding blooms. I'm a little envious right now.

These should be dry as a Catasetum in winter and warm as a Phal.

Thank you all, it has a scent, a mix of fruit and spice. All Nobilior plants has to go through a dry spell and has to have drop in temperature by few degrees during the night to initiate flower spikes. It has been chilly and rainy here for few weeks.

Yikes! Then maybe letting them spend every winter for the last few years sharing the same environment with Laelia anceps is why I haven't seen any spikes until now. I've been giving them a fairly strict winter dry spell, but all along I thought they needed a significant drop in night temperatures to coax them into flowering. Thank you for the correction in culture.

No problem! C. walkeriana is cold tolerant, but nobilior is not.

How about tiny nobilior seedlings? Do they need the winter dry spell, too?
