I would keep watering when they are in the right season to go dormant. You can usually coax Cattleya seedlings (of all types) to keep growing this way. If they go dormant anyway, then let them dry but not as much as the adults.

I had two tiny ones mounted in wads of sphagnum on sticks. Both would keep making new growths, but eventually the new growths would die, for no apparent reason. I did water them during the winter when they got dry. The first one died after I had it for about 18 months, and the second one after about 36 months. I don't know what happened.

Tough to say. These guys don't like wet growing root tips and maybe their root system was not very extensive, causing death.

First, congrats on keeping it alive and to bloom! Second, flowers are nice a flat except the lip should be open and flat ... that would be the only thing the flower would improve on. Colour is also outstanding for the deep pink and consistency... well done!

These should be dry as a Catasetum in winter and warm as a Phal.

I've been speaking with some Brazilian friends and I recently reviewed an OB culture sheet that catwalker808 (Harry Akagi) wrote a few years back: C. nobilior gets no rain for many months, but does get night dew during the dry season. They aren't as "dry as a Catasetum" as I stated earlier. I'll be adjusting my culture next time they go dormant.
