Nittany Frost cross almost fully opened
This part of the story is almost done; but I have a number of anceps that are about to open or not even terribly close to opening, so I'll have more

Thanks for sharing! Very nice anceps & family!

Gorgeous, I just love the stems on this orchids.

Laelia anceps v. guerrero 'Blumen Insel' x 'Irwins' AM/RHS
The difference between this and Mendenhall is pretty subtle IMHO. If you look back in this thread you'll see Mendenhall...I had to look a few times to pick out differences. Still just opening, everything is late this year after such a winter

Laelia canariensis
Bought this in spike (4 spikes) in September, so I don't get total credit, but I shepherded it through a pretty tough winter with all 4 spikes intact. That weird "jumping off the page" thing isn't a result of me messing with the photo - must have something to do with the yellow color and the background.

Wow! That's definitely color dominance!
|
Whoops, it's Lc. canariensis. Laelia anceps x Cattleya harpophylla
|
Nice one. It's putting on quiet a show.

The canariensis went from a canary yellow color to what you see in photos of this plant's flower, where the petals have a peach/salmon tone underlying the yellow. Very happy about that, but it doesn't come across in photos.

Lineata
The anceps season is going on and on this year. I'm sure I will have some blooms in June.
Anyway, this one is awesome: https://s26.postimg.org/u8r1ldk55/DSC_0021.jpg Laelia anceps 'Lineata' 1 https://s26.postimg.org/i85lkncqh/DSC_0022.jpg 2 https://s26.postimg.org/rtz60y3w9/DSC_0019.jpg 3 https://s26.postimg.org/nm4ds72gp/DSC_0020.jpg 4 |
