Why don't you ASK the seller why they state this is not appropriate as a windowsill specimen? Maybe there's more to it than just size.

To bloom, most Cattleyas need a lot more light than what is sufficient to keep low-light tolerant house plants just alive. It is hard to bloom a lot of Cattleyas on windowsills for this reason. Spending a Portland winter a foot from a window might not be enough light.
C&H has some mini Catts available now, but they aren't white-flowered. Look for the Sc. and Slc. near the end of the listing. The other vendors mentioned above are also great sources. Fred Clarke at Sunset Valley Orchids has his Cattleya hybrids divided by size, and usually has a lot of mini and compact Catts.

For proper lighting this one would either need to be in a southern or western window. An eastern window would not be enough.

The phrase Carter & Holmes uses for their tallest plants is "Standard- Large growth habit, at least 15”-18” tall, excluding flowers."
At Least.
