Tindomul - It gets standard Cattleya light - 60% shade in high Summer and 30% to none in Winter.

Last spring they offered (very small) mericlones of Lc. Bethune 'Vinne". I agree, get on their mailing list. When they offer divisions there are usually only 1 or 2 of each kind offered.

I want to confirm that by "they" you mean Carter and Holmes? I have never purchased anything from them before.

Yes, Carter & Holmes. They sell lots of Cattleya hybrid seedlings and small mericlones, a fair number of Paphs and slippers, and assorted other things from time to time. The seedlings are healthy.

Lol, I grow in memory of my grandfather. He didn't grow orchids (or anything else), but he encouraged a love of plants in me when I was tiny and got me my early orchids. He would take me to Orchid Jungle every year for my birthday.

I get the C+H emails, can't usually buy much but it's worth it for the wish list fodder. The divisions are sporadic but are of truly lovely things, often awarded or proven breeders, and often recently virus tested.

Well I guess most of us picked up our love of plants from someone right? I like to think I am passing it on to my daughters who are always eager to help me water my plants.
