I cut sheaths all the time. I have a very nice thin sharp knife that I put into the small opening then I just cut upward. I think mine get caught because of my low humidity.

It likely means the plant is properly hydrated and is happy. Some call it happy sap

It is thought that ants are attracted to this sugary sap, and keep the blooms defended from aphids and other sap suckers.

I also think this is sap but I was concerned because I've never heard about sap in catts.
Somehow, I thought they didn't segregate it.

Oh yes, most of my Catts secrete sap like this. More so than some other genuses
