Gwen - I am not sure that you have a this Gold Digger, specifically 'Fuch's Mandarin', not only is the color different but so is the structure of the lip
I looked up about 6 different photos of Gold Digger 'Fuch's Mandarin' and it's color ranges in solid orange tones some to almost yellowish/orange and all have the same distinct lip shape shown in Orchidalic's photo.
I hate being the bearer of not so good news

I looked it up too, even searched LC Gold Digger(without any clonal name) . The LC Gold digger is yellow or gold with a red labiata(with the same structure as Gwens), but none that I found had the red tinges on the petals or sepals. That was the reasoning for my questioning of Gwens plant. Now I'm curious to find out what it really is... Here goes another sleepless night....

Whatever it is, I'll be happy & not the least disappointed. . .but facts are facts. . .'Fuch's Mandarin' doesn't have the same splash of color on the petals and sepals! And the lip on mine is quite different. Almost a solid hue, not clear, defined spots. But I don't know much, so was not surprised by this. roflol I thought it was just some sort of clonal variation.

What the heck is it? Not another NOID?

Gawd, I love a mystery.

Ok here we go
Lc. Gold Digger is now Guarisophleya Gold Digger
= (Guarisophleya Red Gold x Cattlianthe Warpaint)

Guarisophleya Red Gold = Guarianthe aurantiaca x Sophrocattleya Charlesworthii

Cattlianthe Warpaint = Cattleya Tango x Guarianthe aurantiaca

Cattlianthe [Ctt.] = Cattleya x Guarianthe
Guarisophleya [Gsl.] = Cattleya x Guarianthe x Sophronitis

Some Cattleya species have been moved to the
genus Guarianthe [Gur.] recently - The 4 species affected are:
Cattleya aurantiaca - now - Guarianthe aurantiaca
Cattleya bowringiana - now - Guarianthe bowringiana
Cattleya patinii - now - Guarianthe patinii
Cattleya skinneri - now - Guarianthe skinneri

Any more questions, just ask
