My favourite Cattleya species is in bloom again! Just opened yesterday with three flowers and another three buds in tow (on second sheath). More pics when they fully expand.

This one is special because it is the flamea form with magenta splashes on both petals and sepals. Quite rare.

Leslie I'll save you the trouble of shipping. I'll come and pick up a division of that beauty myself!

That is a beauty! So now I have to find me another Cattleya!! I don't see that species listed much. Was it hard to find? Of course I'm in Canada so would likely be harder still.

Thanks all for the nice comments. I got this from the US. It was difficult to source but I finally found it from a grower who was willing to part with a plant. Lucky me!!

The plant is getting bigger and may be ready for a division next year. Any offers? 🙃

Today I walked into my growing area and was hit by the sweet intoxicating fragrance of the flowers 5 feet away. Wow! I also took some more pics ...

Colours are so intense. The egg yolk colour in throat surrounded by a deep cardinal red border and pristine white tepals, flared with magenta stripes. How nature created such beauty amazes me! Simply sublime!
