No, my Brassavola nodosa seedling that came to me smaller than this has always had cylindric leaves.

I contacted the person who sent it to me and she said the other plant she uses as free gifts is Catt. Chocolat Drop. She asked me to send a picture which I have done.

Cattleya Chocolate Drop is a great grex.

I have to wonder how long it will be for blooms . Probably take many many years. :)
I am not familiar with this catt. so I would like to know how big it gets. Trying to decide whether to pot or mount.

It's a bifoliate. They grow vigorously when they're happy. I like to follow the directions on the SVO Web site for Cattleya seedlings.

Oh perhaps lucky you, I would love to have Chocolate Drop. But I also love my nodosa. Oh I just though, a cross wow, how would that be?

Cattlianthe Chocolate Drop is a medium sized plant for a Catt, very upright typical bifoliate habit. Hard to handle mounted unless you have lots of space and light but will do well. Flowers are most often dark red to burgundy almost brown, very solid and shiny, with yellow in the lip. Typically open star-shape form. It can occur in other colors, yellow, orange, green, spotted, even alba.
