I've had this plant roughly 25-30 years, and always liked it. Not really much fragrance, but a quiet beauty and blooms a couple times a year usually. Not a big grower- strongly terete and upright growths are about 10-12" high and it tends to clump pretty tightly.

(Sorry about the ugly leaves in the back. I lost a couple trees in my yard, and with the super dry summer and lack of clouds it's insult to injury for my poor plants- lots of sunburn. Most/all will adapt, hopefully, and hopefully we'll start getting more clouds too)

I think I've only seen one other picture of this hybrid. This is a softer green, slightly fuller flower, and seems to have a hint of color in the lip (correct?). The other was very green with pure white lip, and narrower petals. I like this better.

Registered (as the reciprocal cross) in 1991 as Bc. Memoria Helen Wood, it is considered Rby. (Rhynchobrassoleya) Memoria Helen Wood now, because of Rl. Aristocrat.

PaphMadMan, thanks for the nomenclature help! With all the recent changes, I know many of my plants should be retagged. It just seems a bit daunting when you have 100+ plants. I was just kvetching with the nursery owner I visited this past weekend- I don't want to imagine doing several thousand tags! He doesn't either lol.

Thanks for the grex name also. The original tag was written with BC Binosa first, so assuming that's the way this pod was set. I got it at the State Fair, not from the person who grew it. The color on my monitor is pretty true- a soft dusty green with a pale pink lip. The colors have faded now, the whole flower is sort of chartreuse. It is receiving intense light at the moment, I don't remember the fade always being so dramatic (usually the lip fades to pinkish white, while the tepals remain green).

Shannon, I just went outside and measured them- the blooms are 5" from tip to tip. Didn't think it was that large.
