Cattleya schilleriana seedling - one leaf per bulb
I have scoured the web looking for an answer to my question to no avail.
I purchased a Cattleya schilleriana seedling from the Troy Meyers Lab. When I looked at the pics prior to purchasing, I didn't notice anything unusual about it but when it arrived today it stuck out like a sore thumb. My schilleriana seedling only has one leaf per psuedobulb which "should be" wrong, considering they are a bifoliate species.
Being as I myself have a scientific background and know the rigors gone through to avoid mislabling anything as it can ruin a trial or entire research experiment, I want to give the Lab more than the benefit of the doubt. So, after a long explanation, my question is simple: Can bifoliate Catts. have only one leaf per psuedobulb as seedlings?
I have another Catt hybrid that is just reaching adult stage that may suggest the answer is "yes" as it has two leaves on one bulb and one leaf on the others... however, I don't know everything going into its hybridization and it may be confused if it has both bi and unifoliate catts in its genetic make-up.
I am hoping that someone has experience with really little bifoliate catt seedings, especially schilleriana.
Thanks!

Three Cattleya schilleriana seedlings recently received from Carter & Holmes. Note two are currently unifoliate, and one bifoliate.
I think a lot of bifoliate Cattleya species and hybrids are often unifoliate as seedlings.

Thank you, Estacion!
That is exactly the kind of photo I spent a good portion of my evening looking for.
I suspected that it may have been a seedling thing, but couldn't confirm on any bifoliate species (or I didn't look hard enough). Living things often don't do things they 'should.'

My small schilleriana also has some unifoliate leaves.
