I had to go back and look at mine. Yours is so much more yellow than mine was. It also has a different shape. It's beautiful. Now I really want to get another one of these.

That's 3 pretty different looking seedlings. I can't wait to see more of them bloom out.

Thank you .
Yes , they are sure different and all 3 are beautiful in there own way.But i think i still like yours the best ...how big is your Bloom? Mine is only 3 inches wide ,seems kind of small for the size of the Plant.
I do still like it ....except .... Mine has no fragrance at all

I've also found 2 not very nice looking examples of this cross while Googling. This seems to be a vary variable hybrid!

No-Pro-Mwa, I think yours may have had more dowiana shape than ours, if I remember correctly. And looked almost peachy pink to me.

One of our orchid society members brought one in to our meeting Thursday July 21st. It has been open for quite some time, and the color is not nearly as blue as the photo - harsh fluorescent lighting, and a cheap camera.

In the background you can see the bright yellow, first-bloom Paph. Dollgoldi (armeniacum x rothschildianum.) The owner/AOS judge said it's better than most, but not award quality. I would have taken it.

I have this one too. Mine is unifoliate. The new growth it arrived with rotted shortly after maturing, very unexpectedly and from the middle of the pseudobulb, it was weird. Looked like black rot and I had to slice that growth off. I think it favors the dowiana parentage. It hasn't bloomed.

That one sort of looks like mine only with spots.

It will be interesting to see how yours blooms. These seem to be as variable as any cross I have seen!

Keep in mind that genetics are not fully understood.
1. Pod parent usually dominates.
2. Spots are difficult to introduce, unless they exist in the background of both parents.

From a breeders perspective, this appears to be a 'stepping stone' cross (to introduce spotted genes into a larger and fuller flower). Optimum results are not expected till you use this grex to breed the next generation from the best of the seedlings.

Yes I think your right. Mine was kind of pink with tan. And wonderful news is it has 3 new growths on it. I am so hopping they will all bloom but I don't think I will hold my breath

I would sure take that paph. I rather think it is sort of fun looking at all the variables in this seedling. And I can't wait to see more pictures.

Wow, 3 new growths! Mine just finished blooming and had a lovely scent. But I think mine will only get one new growth from the one that just bloomed. First I need to make sure it grows some roots as ours had to be brought across the border bare root and then re-packed and shipped to us. So some of mine required some TLC in the rooting dept.
