I took some photos tonight to show some of what my growing areas look like at the moment - I have a light stand in my garage and in my bathroom. I am hoping to upgrade over the summer to either a halide setup or some form of greenhouse (winning the lottery would seriously help for the latter). Thought I'd share with the group.

Nice pics! How many light stands do you have, and how many different rooms have you "invaded" so far?

The only way I could afford a greenhouse - especially the heating part - would be to win the lottery. Halides are a good alternative. I have a 400 watt, but I'm not running it at the moment, not many high light plants in my collection. But the phal collection has grown so much, I soon will have to move them far enough away from it and run it for them. The bonus heat when it's on and temperature drops when it's not really helps create spikes.

A really nice setup. It looks like you have had great success with your growing and have the conditions perfected for growing

I live in Michigan now but lived in Calhoun Ga. for a few years. I loved the mountains there.

Thanks, guys! So far, I've got two lightstands; one in the bathroom and another in the garage. My invasion sort of stops there, as we keep and breed show cats and those are the only cat-free areas in the house at the moment (and, as you can imagine, cats and plants under lights are a recipe for disaster; especially with my cats. Many, many inanimate things in this house have met their demise at the hands of these little demons.. heh)
Anyway, I'm in desperate need of an expansion! In addition to the plants that I've got so far, I've got about 10-15 flasks that are either on order, already in my possession or just planted out, plus a few compots that I bought that are looking like they're about to bust their pots. Naturally, also, I've got my eye on more stuff that I want to buy, too!
I am hoping to be purchasing my own home in the next year or two, and I will definitely be looking with a mind for my orchids - I really ultimately want a big greenhouse, but I wouldn't mind a huge grow area in a basement too. Better yet, both!

I'd go for the basement - easier to control temps!

Not only easier, probably a lot cheaper too. But not as sexy...

Hi Dana, Very nice collection and setup. My wife and I are cat people and would love to see some pictures of your show cats. Your avatar is awesome, anyway if you can post some on the pet forum I am sure many members would also like to see them. Thanks
