C. nobilior question - Orchid Board

My nobilior just finished blooming and started a new growth. The new growth is obviously starting from the rhizome. However I just noticed a new growth which is definitely originating at the base of the spent flower spike. Could this be another spike?

Can you post a pic? It's most likely a new growth as mine is making a new growth in front of a spent flower growth/spike. W/nobilior, the old spike "stumps" remain and new growths sprout in front of them. The walkerianas that produce no leaves on their spikes do the same.

Too soon to be 100% certain at this point but I'm going to guess it's a new growth.

My recently finished blooming amaliae is doing the EXACT same thing right now. I think new growth...I'm hoping new growth.

I just noticed that the two growths seem different. The one coming from the base of the pbulb is flat in profile, the other is round. As thing develop I'll post another pic.

This species often sends new growth from old spikes.

Looks like new growth to me too.
