Mine was very nicely scented. I made notes in Orchid Wiz about that when it was in bloom this spring. It is not a named cultivar and I got it from H & R a number of years ago. Strange that some aren't scented.

I have 3, a regular dark colored appleblossom, a "fantastic" which is light pastel colored but same color pattern as appleblossom and an "NN" which is brighter yellow with a bronzy border. The "NN" was the latest to bloom and smells really nice, that cattleya combo peony/rose/spice type smell. I thought it was fairly strong, but not as strong as a Brassovola. I am also thinking that it took a long time for the smell to develop. Either that or I was just not paying much attention to it.

I can't remember how long the scent took to develop. But my comment in my OrchidWiz notes was how lovely the blooms looked and smelled!

That's good to hear! One of mine is the 'NN' clone but it hasn't bloomed for me yet. The 'Fantasy' clone was nicely fragrant, and my 'Hihimanu' is is bud right now. It's supposed to be very fragrant, and I'm hoping it is. Oh, and if you're wondering I recently found out that 'NN' stands for Newman's Nursery.
