Question Is This Normal for Nodosa??

OK all you nodosa growers out there. Help me out please. My nodosa bloomed for me around Christmas time. It finished up a couple of weeks ago, and all the flowers dropped. As I was watering today I noticed that the last bud at the end of the spike that never developed is now going to bloom. Not only that there is a nubbin as Dorothy would say growing out of the last node on the spike. Is this normal?? I was very surprised to see it. I'm sure glad I didn't cut the spike like I was going to!
