First Encyclia of the season!

This was a bag baby- it was at my Lowe's for 1 1/2 years! After watering it every month or so, the package was deteriorating and I felt sorry for it- so home it came. It took last year to recover, but has 4 spikes now. Happy I got it, I love Encyclias and somehow hadn't gotten a cordigera yet. Great sweet fragrance to boot! (thinking of fertilizing a flower, maybe some pollen I saved from my Golf Green)

Love it. I just bought this variety. It has very few roots so hope I can pull it thru and someday get nice blooms like that!

?!?!?! Do you work there, or do you mean you watered their plants when nobody was looking? ???

No, I don't work there and yes- I open the bags on the ones in the Visqueen bags, or just take the ones in the net sacks as is, and dunk them in the fountains. My nearest Lowe's finally got fed up with me I think (though they said they appreciated that the plants were healthier and even started blooming in the bags [Bl. Yellow Bird]).

On the plus side, they started actually taking care of the plants themselves! So mission accomplished.
