Cattleya skinneri 'Casa Luna' AM/AOS
First time blooming under my care! I'm surprised it bloomed as the sheath was really small, dry and compressed. It threw a brilliant effort with 9 flowers, even under my T5 lights.
Colour is a nice deep lavender offset with a contrasting light yellow throat.

What a beautiful show! Carter & Holmes sold mericlones of this a few months back. Will be interesting some day to see how they compare to divisions.

My favorite cultivar of skinneri. That's beautiful! If you haven't already, put it in direct sun for a few minutes by a window. The texture is like diamonds.
C. skinneri typically have small sheaths that dry during the dry season then pop in spring. Mine got huge, but grown well they make a great wow! display. I highly recommend a v. alba or albescens. The one I have is 'Debbie' a clone from Waldor Orchids that's vigorous and makes a great show.

It's gorgeous. But under your lights it looks like a white center.

Yes the center looks more white in the T5 light.
