Cattleya mossiae first blooms
Two years after the purchase, this Cattleya mossiae -if not mislabeled- has bloomed. Flowers are 12 cm wide without stretching the half-opened petals and they are large compared to the plant itself.

There is nothing to indicate that it is not a C mossiae. Nice blooming on young plant.

Agree with Kim. Definitely C. mossiae in my opinion. How do you like the fragrance?

Not very fragrant for the time being; there's a faint but pleasant smell. It bloomed when we were not away for a couple of days. I took it from the "grow" point to the "show" point of the living room which is a metre away from the windowsill. Maybe this is a reason that there's almost no fragrance.

Looks a lot like my mossiae which just bloomed for the first time. I found it took a couple days to develop the fragrance and then it was very nice.

If it really is Cattleya mossiae, it will be magnificently fragrant after the blooms have fully developed. Put the plant in a warm and sunny location during the morning and then come back to check it out after a few hours.
