Very pretty colors. Well done.

Unless the growth patterns are different than a mossiae such as:

1. Flowers in spring (April/May)
2. Flowers from dry sheath after about six months rest period over winter
3. New growths grow from summer to fall, and then root immediately.

If your plant follows this, then it is highly probable it's a mossiae!

Since it's a first bloom, the flowers may get larger (up to 18-20 cm) as it matures in a couple years.

From what you've all written and I googled, I'm convinced that it's highly likely to be a mossiae. Today the flowers have a noticeable liliac-like smell.

The plant flowered from an almost-dry yellowish sheath. The growing and resting periods are not very well-defined, it completed the flowering pseudobulb in mid-winter after a larger pseudobulb got sunburnt in the sheath. It gets fertilizer and water as long as there's new growth around.

I think I didn't rot the plant as my growing conditions are a bit dry and I never fertilize heavily; < 0.9 EC in every watering except for very cold days when the windowsill is cool.

Although it's a first blooming, the flowers are more than satisfactory for a plant living in a 500ml ice cream box

May I know what you mean by ice cream box?

The plant is potted in an ice cream box of 500 millilitres, literally

I drilled holes at the bottom and a few more on the sides. I use another ice cream box to water the plant; two ice cream boxes use the least amount of water to immerse the pot completely. It also fits on a narrow windowsill without any problems.

The only problem is that the pot lacks aesthetic.

It's not the main reason but I am happy with this second benefit, too Btw, some brands have nicely designed lids that make perfect saucers, which enable leaving a bit of a blank under the pot for aeration.
