Gorgeous! I tend to gravitate towards species, so I think that it is awesome that you collect unusually marked species plants.

Thanks! The species with flares and pelorica or unusually color forms usually catch my eye! For example leopoldii alba and guttata semialba. I hope to bloom those this summer!

The plant made it's debut at the Montreal show this past weekend. Was screened for an AOS award. The judges liked the coloration but was deemed to have a weak substance. Perhaps next year with another stronger growth will up that component to garner the recognition. Nonetheless I think it's still spectacular !

Thank you both. I really like this species too and have collected a few different ones. There's another one coming into bloom that I'm excited about! It's also got flares... I see two buds about to pop out of the sheath!

I have to ask now. Where did you get your flared petalled lueds from?

I got them from growers in the US who sold me divisions., like Canaima and Steven Christofferson (CA).

That's a very rare leudde. Kudos! The substance seems par for the course for the species... the lip is spectacular for coloring.

I've known Steve for close to a decade now. I've not been able to contact Canaima Orchids for quite a few years. Is Michael still around?
