Default Color progression exhibited in photo due to age of flowers!

I find it fascinating to view a flower just opening up. The sheer excitement of seeing it unfurl and fill out is a joy. Then to watch as it transforms into almost a completely different color in the course of a week is astounding to me. This BLC. exhibits that color changing property to an extreme, in my opinion. It has such an orange/cinnamon appearance upon opening; it calls to mind a beautiful sunset. It then transforms into a magnificent, deep red velvet color, with magenta highlights. I hope you enjoy seeing the contrast of the newly open flower next to the week old flowers. It has two more buds to open on the upper spike. The plant just bloomed in December 2015 and is now at it again. It fills the room with fragrance and it glistens in the sunlight! A very reliable bloomer for me.

That's really nice. That has a registered name of Blc. Fender's Love Song in case you don't have that info.

Cool! My Slc. Hazel Boyd 'Debbie' went from a red to a very nice orange as it aged. And the bloom lasted forever.

Yes, it has been wonderful to get out and enjoy the sun and warmth. Tomorrow is forecast to be very nice. Enjoy it before the rain comes.

Default Now in Full Bloom!

I thought I would post a final picture of this plant in full bloom. I am very happy to have 5 big flowers at the same time. I hope next year, or better yet, later this year will be as rewarding.
