I just got a Catt/Guarianthe aurantiaca this summer. It had sheaths on 2 new growths when I got it. One even turned brown and dried and I could not feel anything going on inside. Now after several months they both have blooms inside of them if I don't blast them. So maybe they bloom at different times, mine is a 'Mishima Spots' x 'SVO Spots 2'. I got it from Fred Clark of course.

Thanks to everyone for the joy. Sorry to all the people in the east who have had to deal with all the snow, 20+ inches is a lot of it. Don't envy any of you who have to shovel it, we here,in central Missouri, have been lucky, so far, we have had only few inches this season. Knock on wood. Good to be able to excape the weather with blooming plants. Yes, it will bloom a couple of times a year, and I think you can still find it for sale, not real common, but you can find it every now and then. Keep on shoveling

Reliving an old post, yes, it does bloom this time of year, every year. Here it is yesterday. Makes it OK, when it is -12F outside, it’s sunny and 75F in the greenhouse.

Nice specimen plant! Looks like it would have a nice lemony scent.
