Leptotes bicolor. It's related to Cattleyas and so far a seedling has been pretty easy to grow here. It came here in mid September from Olympic Orchids in Seattle, mounted in a wad of sphagnum on a piece of cork. It gets bright indirect light. Relative humidity has been 50% by day and 70% at night. Temperatures are 60F minimum and up into the 80s during sunny hours.
I initially didn't fertilize much. I've upped the fertilizer on my Cattleya alliance seedlings and they are growing much better. I'm using 1/2 teaspoon / 2.5ml powder of MSU and the same quantity of Epsom salts per gallon / 3.78 liters of rain. This gives about 85ppm nitrogen, using the fertlizer calculator on the First Rays Web site. I've decided to add a quarter of the water as tap water to up the calcium. I fertilize 3 out of 4 waterings, and use pure rain for the fourth.
I don't let this Leptotes seedling get completely dry. I water the more typical Cattleya alliance seedlings when the plants are almost dry, or completely dry for the bigger seedlings.
I'll add a photo later. I'm taking a break during a partial water exchange on my 50 gallon.
