C. trianae 'Mooreana' in bloom
I really love this plant and the blooms. The blooms have such a glow to them. And I consider it an heirloom cultivar to be well taken care of. 'Mooreana' was first awarded an FCC/RHS in 1907. Many years later it received an AM/AOS. So the cultivar has been around for a very long time. Mine grew 4 new growths last summer of which they all bloomed (well, one bud blasted). I had to cut off 2 leaves because they were blocking the buds and preventing them to open properly. And I do grow it to enjoy the blooms! But it has great roots and I figured it could spare the leaves. It is pleasantly scented as well, although not real strong.

Hi Silken, great job at growing and blooming this heirloom cultivar. I like the contrast of the petal splashes and the dark lip. I have analysis many pics of these and found the open lip in middle distracting. Are all your flowers like this? Also what is size of your largest flower?
I have about five heirloom cultivars of splash trianaes ... The trilabelliod one was small as it was first post division
